Gift Registry Wedding Tips

Wedding couple

Different customs and traditions are associated with the wedding ceremony, one of the most interesting being the wedding gift registry. Wedding gifts are an inevitable aspect of wedding celebrations. The Jewish tradition of presenting gifts includes customary Jewish items such as the Special Star of David made from sterling silver, Jewish star wine stopper, sterling silver triangle pendant decorated with different traditional symbols, beaded Tzedakah boxes, men's Hebrew watch, traditional gold plated Talis clips having Chai on each clip, wedding glass Mezuzah, Ani Li Dodi blessing plate, Tree of Life wedding Menorah and the Silver Plated Kiddush Cup better known as a Chupah Goblet. With changes in our culture, wedding gift registry ideas have undergone certain changes, as some individuals totally disagree with the extravagant wedding gift registry ideas, as they feel the bride and groom should accept wholeheartedly whatever is given as a wedding gift.

A typical Christian wedding reception normally takes place at a church or an attractive outdoor setting. A wedding reception is a social gathering, held after the conclusion of the marriage ceremony. Different cultures follow various customs related to wedding receptions which are typically held at religious places. Although the main idea of inviting guests is to witness the couple's marriage ceremony and provide the couple with a social setting where they can celebrate the union of marriage. In many cases it’s felt that gifts for the bride and groom are not obligatory, although most guests prefer to give at least a small gift symbolizing their best wishes. The couple often registers for gifts at a favorite store well in advance of their wedding day. This allows them to form a list of favorite items, usually including household items such as silverware, crystal ware, pots and pans, and other necessary items. This is meant to help guests feel easy about purchasing gifts that the newlyweds will truly appreciate.

Normally, some guests will deliver gifts a day before the wedding. Because of this, the couple can create a wedding gift registry for desired items at the department store and post the list there. The shop then organizes the delivery of the gifts at the appropriate place and time, usually at the bride's parents' house or in the reception hall depending on the planned arrangement. Another type of bridal wedding gift registry is honeymoon registries which began in the 1990's. This new custom allows a couple to create a registry on a web page with photos and details of their upcoming wedding and honeymoon events. Wedding guests are invited to visit the registry location so that they may bestow a monetary gift for the couple's honeymoon. Thus,  a wedding gift registry allows guests to know all about the aspirations of the newly wedded couple.
